Discount (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Discount browser extension (the “Service”). This notice describes the information involved when the Service finds and activates discounts, how that information is used, and the choices available to you. For privacy questions, contact info@getdiscount.pro.

1. Information involved in providing the extension

Store detection and offer matching. The extension reads the address of the active browser tab and tab address changes on HTTP and HTTPS pages so it can identify the store domain. It compares that domain with an offer list saved in the extension and may show a discount in the popup, on the toolbar badge, or in an optional page alert. This comparison takes place in your browser, and Discount does not receive a report of every page you visit. The extension does not inspect page text, form fields, payment information, or site cookies to perform this match.

Information kept in the browser. Local extension storage holds the current offer list, your settings, synchronization status, and records showing when a discount was activated or an alert was dismissed for a domain. These records let the interface work and prevent the same alert from appearing too often.

Connections to Discount. From time to time, the extension contacts services associated with getdiscount.pro to obtain operating settings and the latest list of participating stores and discounts. Like ordinary web requests, these connections can expose an IP address, request time, and browser request headers to the service provider. The downloaded list is then used locally for store matching.

What happens when you choose a discount. No affiliate action occurs merely because you visit a store. Only after you press Activate discount does the extension send the destination needed for that offer to an activation service. Depending on the offer, the destination can be the complete page address or the site origin. A complete address can contain a path, query values, or a fragment supplied by the store. The activation request may pass through an affiliate provider before reaching the merchant, using either the current tab or a short-lived background tab. The extension then displays Offer link activated.

Discount does not require an account and does not ask the extension user for a name, email address, or payment details. The current extension does not include a separate advertising or analytics SDK and does not upload your complete browsing history in the background.

2. How we use information

We use the information described above to match stores with available discounts, complete an activation you request, remember extension preferences, refresh offer data, attribute qualifying affiliate referrals, investigate errors or misuse, and meet legal duties. Active-tab addresses are not used to build an advertising profile about your browsing.

Where a legal basis is required, handling information after you select a discount is necessary to provide the feature you requested. We may rely on legitimate interests to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service and to maintain referral records, subject to your rights. We process information when a law requires us to do so.

3. Parties that may receive information

Merchants and affiliate providers. After you press Activate discount, the companies needed to route and attribute that selected offer may receive the destination address or store domain, a partner identifier, and routine connection data such as an IP address and browser headers. A merchant or affiliate provider may later report whether the referral produced a qualifying transaction. They do not receive a Discount list of all stores you browse.

Service providers. Companies that host, deliver, protect, or maintain our settings, offer data, activation routing, or support email may process the limited information needed to perform those services for us.

Required or business disclosures. We may share information to comply with a valid legal demand, protect users or our rights, or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of the business as permitted by law. Merchants and other external websites apply their own privacy notices.

4. Storage and retention

Offer data, settings, synchronization data, and activation or dismissal records remain in extension storage until you clear the extension data or uninstall it. Discount currently uses a 15-day activation period and a 5-day dismissal cooldown to decide when an offer can appear again. These periods control the interface and are not automatic deletion schedules.

Our service providers may keep server request logs that include an IP address, timestamp, request headers, the requested service function, and, for an activation you initiate, the submitted destination. Server logs are currently retained indefinitely for operations, security, and referral support. Removing the extension does not erase those server records. Support messages are kept for as long as reasonably needed to answer and document the request.

5. Your controls and privacy rights

You can prevent an activation destination from being sent by not pressing Activate discount. You can turn off page alerts in the extension settings, clear extension storage through browser controls, or disable or uninstall the extension to stop its access to tab addresses. When page alerts are off, the popup and badge can still check the current store against the locally saved offer list.

Depending on your location, you may ask for access to personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability, and you may withdraw consent where consent applies. You may also complain to the relevant data protection authority. Send a request to info@getdiscount.pro. We may need enough information to verify the request and locate relevant records. Information held only inside your browser must usually be viewed or removed there because we cannot identify it on our systems.

6. International processing and security

Our infrastructure providers, affiliate providers, and merchants may process information in more than one country. Where required, international transfers are supported by safeguards recognized under applicable law. We use encrypted HTTPS connections for extension service requests and apply reasonable organizational and technical protections, although no network or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Children

The Service is not designed for children under 16, and we do not knowingly seek their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact info@getdiscount.pro so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.

8. Updates and contact

We may revise this policy when the Service or our practices change. The date above will show the latest revision, and we will provide any additional notice or consent required by law. This notice does not replace the privacy policies of stores or other external services.

Questions and privacy requests can be sent to info@getdiscount.pro. Discount is responsible for the Service described in this policy.
